At TranscribeMe we recognize the importance of privacy and the protection of personal data. This policy applies to our transcription services across all their channels: the WhatsApp and Telegram bots (TranscribeMe) and the web platform (TranscribeGo, available at transcribego.com).

The product is operated by Rather Ventures, a C-Corp incorporated in Delaware (United States), which is the owner of the product and of its intellectual property. As part of our commitment to the protection of privacy, we want to inform you clearly about what data we process and how we do it.

About your audio and transcriptions

Your privacy is our priority. We distinguish between two types of audio content:

Personal voice notes (WhatsApp, Telegram and voice messages): by default, these audio files are automatically deleted once they have been processed. During processing they are stored only temporarily, for the time strictly necessary to ensure the quality of the service (for example, to be able to retry a transcription if something fails). Unless you give your express consent to the contrary, these audio files are not retained. We offer the option to retain them only when you expressly authorize it, to help you better manage your work (for example, a journalist who wishes to keep an interview to later share it with the public).

Uploaded files (through messaging or the web): when you upload an audio file, we retain it to allow you to better manage your content within the platform. You may delete it at any time.

As for transcriptions, on the web platform we offer features such as the history, which require storing the text of your transcriptions so that you can access them. This information is stored securely and associated with your account, and you may delete it at any time.

Personal data we process

In order to provide the service and for statistical, system optimization and fraud prevention purposes, we process the following data, depending on the channel you use: phone number or username (on WhatsApp or Telegram), email address and basic profile data when you sign in with Google, as well as verification codes (OTP) where applicable. We also process the number of characters of the text, the duration of the audio and the interaction you carry out with the service.

If you link several access methods (for example, your WhatsApp account with your web account), we process the information necessary to associate those identities with a single user.

Passwords and authentication

We do not store your password. When you use email and password access, we store only an encrypted version (hash) of it, in accordance with industry security measures and standards. This means that no one, including our team, can recover your original password.

Payments

Payments and subscriptions are managed through external payment processors such as Stripe and MercadoPago, among others. These providers may process and retain the data necessary to process the transaction in accordance with their own policies. Such data depends on each provider and is not information that we actively collect or retain.

Features with data persistence

Certain optional features, such as the creation of personal lists or the use of reminders, require us to store certain information provided by you (for example, the items of a list or a reminder date and time). In these cases, such information is stored securely, solely to enable the functioning of those features, and may be deleted by you at any time through specific commands or by contacting support.

How we use your data

We use the information from your interaction with the service to improve and optimize the quality, performance and operation of our technology, achieving a better experience between you and the service. We do not use this data to train artificial intelligence models. We do not process or use your personal data for purposes other than those reported here.

Deletion of your account and your data

You may request at any time the deletion of all data associated with your account. To this end, within the platform we provide an option that allows you to delete the account completely. You may also exercise this right by contacting us.

Security

We maintain appropriate security measures to protect your personal data against loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration or unauthorized destruction. These measures include the use of appropriate technologies and procedures to ensure the security of the personal data we collect.
